Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 20, 2026

This Privacy Policy (the "Policy") describes how Pacific Interactive LLC ("Pebble," "Pebble Chat," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards information when you use our website at www.pebblechat.com, the Pebble Chat iOS application, and any related services (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this Policy.

1. Plain-English summary

Pebble Chat does not require an account. We do not ask for your name, email, phone number, or any other identifier, and we do not maintain user accounts or chat history on our servers. Each message you send is forwarded to a third-party AI provider so that it can generate a reply, and is then gone from our systems. The iOS app shows ads through Google AdMob and may use a mobile advertising identifier for that purpose, subject to your device's privacy settings. There is no "sign in," no password to reset, and no profile to delete.

The Service is offered to a general audience and is not directed to children under the age of 13. See Section 4 below for our children's privacy practices.

2. Information we collect

  • Account information: none. There are no accounts.
  • Chat content: The text you submit through the Service is transmitted to our AI provider in order to generate a response. We do not store chat history in a database on our servers. Content you choose to keep lives only on your device (for example, in your browser's local storage for the current page).
  • Diagnostic and usage data: Our hosting provider automatically logs standard request metadata such as IP address, user agent, requested URL, status code, and timestamp for security, abuse-prevention, and operational purposes. We may also use a privacy-friendly, first-party analytics tool to record aggregate, anonymized page-view counts.
  • Local-storage preferences: The Service stores a small number of preferences in your browser's local storage, such as your selected chat model and a flag indicating you have accepted the age confirmation. These never leave your device.
  • Advertising data (iOS app only): The iOS app uses Google AdMob to show ads. AdMob may use a mobile advertising identifier (IDFA, on Apple devices) and standard ad-network signals to serve and measure ads. Use of the IDFA on iOS is controlled by Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework — we will only request and use the IDFA if you grant permission through the system prompt.

3. How we use information

  • To provide, operate, secure, and maintain the Service.
  • To transmit your text prompts to our AI provider so we can return a response.
  • To detect, investigate, and prevent abuse, fraud, security incidents, and violations of our Terms & Conditions.
  • To comply with legal obligations, lawful requests, and our agreements.
  • To improve the Service in aggregate (e.g., performance and reliability), using non-identifying data.

We do not use your chat content to train any AI model, and we contractually rely on our AI provider's commitment not to use API inputs to train its models (see Section 5).

4. Children's privacy

The Service is intended for a general audience aged 13 and older, and is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Because the Service does not require an account and does not store chat history on our servers, we are not in a position to identify individual users.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe that a child under 13 has provided personal information to us — for example, through the text of a message — please contact us at the email address in Section 12 and we will work in good faith to remove that information promptly. Where applicable, we also comply with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the UK's Age-Appropriate Design Code.

5. Third parties we share information with

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your personal information with third parties except as described below, or as required by law.

  • OpenAI, L.L.C. — processes your text prompts to generate replies. Under OpenAI's API policy in effect as of the date of this Policy, prompts and outputs submitted through the API may be retained by OpenAI for a limited period for abuse-monitoring purposes and are not used to train its models. Please review OpenAI's privacy policy at https://openai.com/policies/privacy-policy for details, and avoid including sensitive personal information in your messages.
  • Our hosting and infrastructure providers — host the website and run our serverless functions. Standard request metadata is logged by these providers as described above. We select reputable providers and update this Policy if a material change in subprocessors occurs.
  • Google LLC (AdMob and related Google ad services) — serves ads inside the iOS app and on the website. We configure ads to be non-personalized where required by applicable law (e.g., for users in the EEA, UK, and California). See https://policies.google.com/privacy.
  • Apple Inc. — distributes the iOS app through the App Store and may collect standard App Store and device telemetry governed by Apple's own privacy policy.
  • Legal and safety: We may disclose information in response to lawful requests by public authorities, to enforce our Terms & Conditions, to protect the rights or safety of ourselves or others, or in connection with a corporate reorganization, merger, acquisition, or asset sale.

6. International data transfers

Pebble is operated from the United States. If you use the Service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. These countries may have data-protection laws that differ from those in your country. By using the Service, you consent to these transfers. Where required, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or similar safeguards provided by our processors to protect your information.

7. Your rights

Because we do not maintain user accounts or persistent profiles, most data-rights requests (such as the right to access, correct, or delete personal information) have nothing on our side to act upon. That said, depending on where you live, you may have the following rights, which we honor where they apply:

  • Right to know / access: Confirmation of whether we hold any personal information about you.
  • Right to deletion / erasure: Request deletion of personal information we may hold (in practice there is typically nothing on our side to delete, since we do not maintain accounts or chat history).
  • Right to correct: Request correction of inaccurate information.
  • Right to opt out of sale or sharing: We do not sell personal information. In the prior 12 months, we have not sold or shared personal information as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA / CPRA) or analogous laws.
  • Right to non-discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
  • Right to lodge a complaint: EEA/UK users may complain to their local data protection authority.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at the address in Section 12. We may need to ask for limited information to verify your request.

California "Shine the Light" (Civil Code § 1798.83): We do not share personal information with third parties for their direct marketing purposes.

8. Cookies and similar technologies

We use a small number of strictly necessary and functional cookies/local-storage entries. We do not use cookies for cross-site advertising on our website. Third-party scripts (AdMob, Google Publisher Tag, AdSense) may set their own cookies and identifiers subject to their respective policies.

  • chat-model (local storage / cookie): remembers which AI model you last used. Strictly functional.
  • ageConsent (local storage): records that you have confirmed you are 13+ and accepted these documents. Strictly functional.
  • sidebar:state (cookie): legacy UI preference; harmless and may be removed in a future release.
  • Third-party advertising cookies (Google AdMob / AdSense / Google Publisher Tag): set by those services when ads are shown. Controlled by your device privacy settings and, where applicable, served as non-personalized.

9. Apple App Tracking Transparency

On iOS, the App Tracking Transparency (ATT) system controls whether apps may use the device's advertising identifier (IDFA) for cross-app tracking. We will only request the IDFA where allowed and will respect your choice. If you decline ATT permission, ads in the iOS app will be limited to non-personalized ads.

10. Data retention

We do not maintain a user database. Server-side, your prompts and responses exist only for as long as it takes to stream them back to you, plus any short-term retention applied by our AI provider as described in Section 5. Operational server logs are retained for the period set by our hosting provider, typically no more than 30 days, for security and abuse-prevention purposes.

11. Security

We rely on industry-standard infrastructure providers for encryption in transit (TLS) and at-rest storage. No system can be guaranteed completely secure, however, and we recommend you do not send sensitive personal data (financial details, medical information, government IDs, etc.) through any AI chat product — including this one.

12. Changes and contact

We may update this Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of the page will reflect the most recent revision. Material changes will be summarized in-app or on this page so you have notice before they take effect.
